Travel With Berlitz - I'm Little Bit Lonely

FANTASTIC movie by thebiz (and I'm not just saying that because I'm in it). I've been a long-time fan of his work, and was thrilled when he asked me to participate in this one. Wild horses couldn't keep me away from working with him on a project. I love the way he incorporates both TheMovies and iClone3 into the movie.

I play Miss Little Bit Lonely.

My Castle - If I can do it, you can too!

I have been working on my "sample - if Dulci can do it, anyone can" castle for the Wolf & Dulci 3D Building Blocks Contest.

Photobucket

Step 1 - I started off trying to make a wall and turret with a texture I liked.

Photobucket

Another texture experiment

Photobucket

Now I'm experimenting with windows

Photobucket

A version with some towers I ended up deciding against

Photobucket

A closeup of my door

Photobucket

Almost done!!

Photobucket

TA DA!!!! My CASTLE!! Oooooo.....Aaahhhhh

Photobucket

Oh wait, the roofs on the turrets are fixed now.

Photobucket

A closeup of the balcony I made over the door. I like my balcony. Wolf thinks it should be square though (but that's because he's a square). Plus he doesn't have enough imagination to see that to get to the balcony you have to know the secret passageway brick that enlarges the window & turns it into a door! Sheesh.

In Memory

Poem by Emily Dickinson

Some, too fragile for winter winds
The thoughtful grave encloses --
Tenderly tucking them in from frost
Before their feet are cold.

Never the treasures in her nest
The cautious grave exposes,
Building where schoolboy dare not look,
And sportsman is not bold.

This covert have all the children
Early aged, and often cold,
Sparrows, unnoticed by the Father --
Lambs for whom time had not a fold.

iClone Radio - Monday, May 25

This Monday, we will be discussing a couple of movies that have caught our attention, namely:

Along with two big topics:

  • Animations in iClone (this is a big topic, so we will obviously not be covering everything in this one show!)
  • The Wolf & Dulci Building Blocks Competition

There's still time to get your audio commercials and Stump The Wolf Questions in - just send to dulcineatmo@gmail.com.

Listen live Monday from 9pm-10pm CST.

Respect My Securitay

I play the role of Chloe Sweet in this movie by Cecil Evans, who describes Respect My Securitary as:

If you have a weak stomach for larceny, seduction, intrigue, desire, manipulation, betrayal, exploitation, conspiracy and the like, this may not be the movie for you.

The rest of you, please enjoy this quick Action/Comedy. My first TMU-only movie. Been toying around with this one for a while. I mixed the audio in stereo, but it doesn't seem to have survived the render to .wmv. Please keep your reviews "Spoiler Free". Please don't read any reviews until you watch, just in case somebody didn't read this far. :)

Starring:

Dulci as Chloe Sweet (Dulci supplies the seduction, desire, and a touch of the exploitation herein.)

TFoster as Mark Gladstone (Tom should be nominated as best actor for this role. He is transcendant!)

BenTuttle90 as Darrin "Duck" Slater (BenTuttle90 brings a bit of comic relief as Duck. Remember, we're laughing with him, not at him.)

JohnnyEx as The Narrator (Done on hiatus, which is quite a feat!)

Cecil_Evans as Levon Garrett (Close your eyes and you'll believe it's Alec Baldwin.)

Additional voices by BitsyGee (Mrs. Cecil lends a hand. Everybody say "Thanks, Bitsy.")

May 18th Wolf & Dulci Hour Download

Wolf did a great show without me this week, with the help of his gracious co-host Animatechnica. You can download the show here.

Naturally, they discussed various aspects of Animatechnica's recent release, The Expedition.

They delved into his techniques in set-building (including 3D blocks), where did he get that elephant? (hint - White Tiger Marketplace by Gorz), scripting, James Chilton's weapon props, casting the characters, freebies available at CoolClones from the movie, and Animatechnica's general thought process in movie-making.

Also discussed:

  • Upcoming Wolf & Dulci 3D Blocks Props Competition (I'm sure we'll have a more exciting name for that soon)
  • Royalty Free - all content on the Reallusion content store is royalty free as of May 22, 2009 - what does this mean for iClone users and content developers? Wolf summarizes the controversy and gets straight to the meat of the matter.
  • How do the various Materials maps work (diffuse, specular, opacity, etc.)?
This week's Ultra, uber, top secret listener exclusive freebie giveaway is a lovely troll character with custom terrain included.

SOULKING episode 3 of 3

The final part of Peter Martin's SOULKING has been released, and I have to say, this is my favorite of the three parts. I play the role of Faye.

Leif & Faye are trapped on ORACA when the attack begins on EARTH.

May 18 Wolf & Dulci Hour

On Monday's show, Wolf & a mystery co-host will be discussing Royalty Free content & what that means for iCloners.

I just finished up a special treat (subjective phrase) for the show intro, so be sure to tune in about 10 minutes early so you don't miss a second of the fun!

And, of course, a special Wolf & Dulci exclusive content freebie, a Stump the Wolf question, and the mystery of the mystery co-host solved (obviously once the show starts you'll know who it is!)

All the fun can be had here (listen live & join the chatroom for that all-immersing experience) Monday night from 9-10pm CST.

Movies Made Using Just The Movies Software

When The Movies Online was an up & running entity, only movies made exclusively with The Movies software could be uploaded to the official site. This meant no Magix, no Sony Vegas, no VideoStudio, etc. etc. etc.

However, with good writing, acting, exceptional modding work by the community, and persistent experimentation by the top TMO directors, some of the "classic" TMO movies still stand the test of time. I'll be posting a few a week here - it's a walk down nostalgia lane and I hope you'll join me on the trip.

May 11 Wolf & Dulci Hour Download

Last night's Wolf & Dulci Hour ended with the best super duper passcode for our exclusive freebie content yet (although I'm certain Wolf will disagree with that statement). If you missed the show, the download is now available here, and once you hear the passcode, just email it to wolfzone@wolfzone.org for your own copy of:

Photobucket

As promised, we had lengthy discussions on:

  • iCar . This content pack was used in the promo video for our show this week.
  • Wolf explains how he used Sketchup to make the crash scene shown here:

  • 3D Blocks & how to use them to make your own props, sets & creatures in iClone
  • Outstanding examples of 3D block use by Animatechnica can be seen here and here.
  • Stump the Wolf this week led us to using AML helpers and the doors, walls, etc. provided as standard in iClone with imported props
  • My own special narration of The Three Little Pigs
I won't be around for next week's show, but I'm certain that Wolf will make the evening eventful for our listeners!

As always, a huge thank you to the man behind the curtain at TMOA radio, Mr. Ken, for putting up with our nonsense before, during, and after the show, and for making the downloads available so quickly.

Thanks for your continued support (especially those of you who wander into the chatroom during the show and keep us on our toes)!

New desk = new motivation to sit in my chair

After looking for about 8 months for a new computer desk/workstation, I finally bought one yesterday. And I love it!

Photobucket

That's a picture from OfficeMax, not my home office. My computer is too big to fit under the desk, but I used that space for the printer, and now my computer is actually more accessible to me for plugging in various USB cords.

I had to tear myself away from the computer last night as I kept admiring my pristine workspace. My two microphones have lovely little homes, each under one of the small speaker shelves.

I also bought a new file cart to keep myself organized. I guess I won't be able to use "I lost the script" as an excuse anymore when I get behind on lines for other people...

Anyway! Just another reason for me to be glad I have an excuse to sit at my desk tonight, doing the 1 hour Wolf & Dulci radio show.

SOULKING - Parts 1 & 2

I had the privilege of acting in Allpoint's SOULKING, a sci-fi adventure made with iClone3.

Please pay special attention the marvelous performance by GoofParade in his role as the creepy bad guy - not to diminsh the acting by the rest of the cast, of course, but GP really does steal the show in my opinion. I also really like the look of his character.

Parts 1 & 2 have been released (I don't appear until Part 2).

One of those tricks I'm sure everyone else already knew

I have discovered some things I should have noticed before about the motion editor in iClone - which basically means my patience will be tried less and I'll be able to focus more on some of the details.

Since someone else out there might have missed the obvious the same way I did, here's my notes.

Photobucket

Here you can see I have used the Motion Layer box (the box with all the body parts) to make Jane Doe raise her arm. You can also see on the timeline at the bottom of the screen the marker that shows exactly when her arm will be at this position.

Well, when I click play her arm moves up as I directed, but it moves too slowly for my liking. I want it to move more naturally (in this case, faster).

In the past, I confess, I would have removed all animation from the character and started over from the beginning with the animation sequence. Which was a real pain when I was finalizing an animation with, say, 5-10 motions in it. Lots of aggravating trial and error. But of course I'm too stubborn to ask anyone if there's an easier way.

There IS an easier way though.

Photobucket

Here I have clicked on the Timeline button and this is the default option that comes up.

Photobucket

Now within the Timeline box I have selected Motion Layer. Everything associated with the Motion Layer is shown as a little dot on the Timeline. The timeline at the bottom of the screen shows me exactly which keyframe I'm in as well.

Photobucket

Now I have selected the dot associated with the Motion that has her arm raised. Again, notice the timeline at the bottom shows the keyframe. I right-click on the dot and I have the option to copy, cut or delete. I chose cut because I want to move it.

Photobucket

I moved to an earlier position and right-click, choose "Paste". Viola! The motion has moved to a different location in the timeframe. Again, notice on the bottom of the screen her arm is raised at a much earlier point.

There's also a way to copy an entire animation sequence and add it to your library of animations. It was in answer to a question on the Wolf & Dulci show, and he posted screenies with an explanation here: http://www.coolclones.com/forum/inde...showtopic=5475. You'll have to be a member of that site to view it though.
