Best tool for machinima?

Your imagination.

Posted that in response to yet another question about which engine is best for creating machinima, and felt it warranted repeating.

Wolf & Dulci Hour - April 27th Show Download - iClone Radio

Thanks to everyone who listened to Monday nights Wolf & Dulci Hour. We had a great time and hope that you had fun right along with us.

If you missed the live show, the download is now available here.

Some of the topics discussed this week (after the intro which included new fitness tips, including how to breathe like the big bad wolf and do bicep curls like little red riding hood):

  • Recent iclone releases:
Pinhead: In The S***
Pinhead: In The S*** From: afterThought

A fabulous movie by a first-time 3D director. This was for entry into the Pinhead competition, and has been applauded by many viewers.

Angels v Demons
Angels v Demons From: capemedia

A highly anticipated release that lived up to its expectations. So many details in this short that it takes multiple viewings to appreciate all of them!

  • My new status as an iclone poweruser!!! (believe me, I say that tongue-in-cheek and not without a huge amount of gratitude for the post about our show)
  • Using the 3d warehouse in conjunction with 3dxchange
  • Our tip - always check the 3d warehouse before making any content purchases
  • Browsing the Reallusion content store
  • Browsing fansite content stores - including the site with some of Wolf's goodies - CoolCreators Content Store
  • Available freebies - many to be found at CoolClones once you are a registered member
  • Stump The Wolf! - Wolf's summary of the question - Adjusting Animations After the Fact - can be found here (you'll need to register to the site to read it)
  • Exclusive Wolf & Dulci Hour freebie content for our listeners - this week, a parking lot set. Listen to the download to learn how you can receive it as well!

Thanks again for listening - although I suspect we would still do this even if no one did, it sure makes it more fun to know other people can hear me finally get something over on Wolf (can't guarantee that happens every show but I sure do my best!)....

5 hours til showtime - set your watches!

Tonight's Wolf & Dulci hour looks to be an active one.

Wolf & I were just chatting about how we suddenly exploded with material we want to discuss this evening.

In addition to the start of our new "I bought iClone, now what?" series, we will be chatting about two movies that were released this weekend - fantastic movies I might add. But more of my flamboyant ravings to come live on air tonight.

Also be sure to listen for the "super, secret download code" for your exclusive Wolf & Dulci freebie content - which for tonight's show will be a parking lot prop/set for use in iClone.

I confess to laughing more than usual when putting together the intro for the show, and I think you'll understand why when you hear it. Excuse me a second while I get my giggle fit out of the way now....

And as always we have a Stump the Wolf! question lined up. The general consensus is that he was half-stumped last week, so I suspect he'll be that much more anxious to give us proper information.

And hey, our promo video promises general frivolity, so what more could you ask for in 1 hour?

Listen live and join the chat room by clicking here at the appropriate time (9pm-10pm CST).

Projects, projects & more projects

Maybe if I itemize what I've got going on I'll be able to organize myself:

1) "Mystery Movie" Got a FANTASTIC script from a gifted writer that I'm trying to do justice to. Most of the harder work is done - all the voiceover lines are back in from the actors, I've got sound effects, music, actors created in iclone. It's just the special effects on this one that are holding me back a little from really diving in. I don't want to let the writer down - I want to WOW him as he sees what he wrote come to life ala-Dulci-Vision. The longer I put it off the more I suspect he thinks I'm not interested in doing it, when in actuality, it's my intense interest that's holding me back...gotta love circular logic. Comes so naturally to me too!

2) My entry for the Reallusion War & Peace competition with iclone. I've got the script mostly written, although it was originally meant to be a narration and now I'm debating casting a male character as well. My lines are done (assuming it stays a narration). I have a definite vision for this one. Right now I'm stuck at finding the perfect look for the character. I thought I had a good face to work off of but it's just not doing it for me.

3) Gotta record lines for someone else. I think I'll be able to finish that up today - it's a good script but it's also short.

4) There's two movies I recently did lines for that haven't been released yet. I'm dying to see them!!!!

5) Just got cast for another role by a director I am flattered thought of me. He's still working on finalizing the script so I think it will be a while before I get my lines, but that's not holding me back from being excited.

6) I really want to do a promo video for the Industry 101 Show. These guys put themselves out there on their weekly radio show (downloads available here) and in an ongoing help thread here.

7) I need to really delve into my script for Dune viewed from Chani's perspective. Either you know what I'm talking about or you don't (although if you do, you just got +100 Dulci Thinks You're Cool Points)

8) Need to return to and finish up my script for a movie that considers an alternate Garden of Eden.

9) Need to return to and finish up a script I've been working on with Jase called tenatively "Game of the Gods".

10) I think that's it!

I haven't been this impressed in a while

First 3D movie by a gifted person.

I am FLOORED.

And I will let the movie speak for itself.

You need to watch this.

And please leave her a comment on the site - her first movie in this format, I'm sure she could use the encouragement (c'mon, you remember how it felt the first time you put it out there!)

This is a movie I have personally been waiting for over the last few months. Beautiful cinematography, captivating imagery, cool special effects, great sound design - the 6 minutes fly by. I've actually watched this movie a few times now and like it more each time - I keep finding new details to enjoy and marvel at.

From his movie description: Since the beginning of time a war has raged in purgatory.

The show airs live Monday nights from 9pm-10pm CST. It can be listened to (or past episodes downloaded) here.

Live listeners in the chatroom will receive an exclusive parking lot freebie. Listeners not in the chatroom are welcome to Skype me (Dulcilicious) during the show for their link once we announce the content is available. If you download Week 4 after it's available, listen for the download code to email to Wolf for your copy of the freebie.

The hot topic of tomorrow night's show is "I bought iclone - now what?". We will delve into how to get content into iclone so you can start making movies!

This is in addition to our usual banter, and my favorite segment, Stump The Wolf!

As always, Stump the Wolf questions and audio commercials can be submitted to dulcineatmo@gmail.com.

Hope you enjoy the show!

Wolf & Dulci Hour Exclusive iClone Content

We have added a new segment to reward our loyal listeners. We like to call it "THE WOLF & DULCI LOYAL LISTENER FANTASTIC FREEBIE" O.k.... We don't really have a name for it, but in the spirit of thanking our loyal listeners, each week we will be giving away a unique, custom, freebie download in the TMOA chatroom for the live listeners of our show.

Some of you may be saying: "Hey, I can't listen in the middle of the night as I live overseas, but I download your show and listen later" Well, not to worry, we have you covered as well. Starting this week, at some point during each broadcast Wolf will provide a download code (past shows, sorry no dice as we just thought of this now ) SO, that for those that can't listen live but download the show and listen later, you will hear the code - simply email it to Wolf at wolfzone@wolfzone.org and he will email you the download link. Easy enough.

Last week's exclusive download was the set of rocks pictured below (ground plain not included)

Photobucket

This week's exclusive freebie will be a complete parking lot prop pictured below (cars and Reallusion street scene not included). Hope you can tune in.

anonymous (Part 1) from Jorge on Vimeo.

This captivating movie features a stellar cast, including Jase, MefuneAkira, Jase, Saxygirl, and of course the director/writer Act3Scene24. (an interview with him can be read here).

I am absolutely floored by this production. Great casting, scene choices, sound editing, direction - but none of that would mean a thing without the outstanding quality of the writing. He has a gift.

Jase and saxygirl made me cry.
Mef was awesome as the standup comic

I bought iClone, now what?

Next Monday's Wolf & Dulci Hour radio show will include the topic of getting content (props, sets, clothes, etc.) into iClone...basically:

I bought iClone....now what?

This might turn into a multi-show theme depending on how detailed we get in covering this question.

Tune in tonight from 9pm-10pm CST

Tonights Wolf & Dulci Hour can be listened to by following the "Listen To" links here.

We'd also love to see you in the chat room!

Wolf has promised not to subject any of us (least of all me!) to another performance like the Dancing Queen disaster of last week. Honest!

Tonight we will be discussing topics including what different versions of iclone offer, as well as what all this buzz is about the Biosphere plants. Plus commercials featuring current & upcoming iclone releases (as always, feel free to submit your audio commercials to dulcineatmo@gmail.com).

The Photobucket segment features an advanced iclone usage question, so those of you with the program already are sure to pick up a handy tip (assuming he's not stumped that is!).

If you need to catch up on last week's episode, the download is available here. And if you're really feeling adventerous, the first episode can be caught here.

The April 13th show is now available for download here.

Discussion topics include:
  • *Coming Home by Lizard
  • *iclone Use Case Competition
  • *Listener submitted commercials
  • *Stump The Wolf - this week's question was about how to best connect motions in the timeline editor so it is a smooth transition between one to the next
  • *Dulci singing Dancing Queen by Abba (singing is probably too good a term for what I actually did)

Who says there are no machinima reviewers?

Recently I had the opportunity to watch two movies centered on reviewing machinima movies. Both these movies contain some adult content, so consider yourself forewarned.

Sixys Super Sexy Movie Reviews is HILARIOUS, informative, entertaining, and hey! it reviews one of my movies - I Will Not Speak of It. Also reviewed are O The Ocean by thebiz, Odyssey by Killian, and Shark Attack 2 by Chris62. I highly highly highly recommend watching this flick. Really. It's just plain fun!

The Big News March Top 5 was produced by ACFirehead and reviews the following movies:

Empty Vessel by Greenglades

Clockwork by Iceaxe

Whitefish by thebiz

The Grey People Chapter 1 by Moonlight Pictures

The Lounge Singer 2009 Released

The Lounge Singer from Dulci on Vimeo.

The lounge singer has a secret admirer. How far will his obsession take him?

This is a reimagining of a movie I made in 2003 using TheMovies. Dedicated to all the fans of the original who inspired me to take on the project one more time.

I am of course not 100% happy with the final outcome (I never am), but I hope that it comes clearly across as a labor of love.

Made primarily with iclone3, with just a tiny dash of TheMovies. Edited with VideoStudio12.

All singing done by yours truly (one duet with Sparky).

Featuring MefuneAkira as Hank, Nahton as Christian, Sparky as Adam, and Dulci as Lora.

The Wolf & Dulci Hour - Week 1 - Download

And for your pleasure....or something....our first radio show about iclone is now available for download.

The Wolf & Dulci Hour - Week 1

Topics covered include:
  • War & Peace Competition
  • Incorporating other machinima programs into iclone
  • Stump The Wolf - this week's question involved particle effects and, for the record, Wolf was not stumped! It was a great question with quite an informative answer.
  • And me....singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame (hey, Monday was the start of baseball season in the U.S.!)
I promise if you can get best my nervous babbling at the beginning...you might enjoy the rest of the show.

Coming Home by Lizard - Recommended Viewing

Lizard has created something absolutely beautiful. His movie Coming Home utilizes a luscious soundtrack, captivating visuals, a thought-provoking script, and smooth directing to gift us with a truly memorable viewing experience.

Lizard used iclone3.2 to bring his vision to life.

Sol Lindstrom is alone. He has lost the one thing that he looks forward to coming home to every day... his sweet Alyssa. Where his life once felt as though it had purpose he now finds it a series of agonizing events that sometimes feels all too much to deal with. Memories seem to now haunt his every day life as his mind races with the heartfelt questions of where he went wrong and how she could up and walk away from a love that was to last forever.

This film does contain mature content and because so, has been given an 18+ rating on this site. Please take this into consideration when viewing this film.

Listen live tonight - iclone radio

I'm pretty excited that tonight launches The Wolf & Dulci Hour.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to discuss this on the Ken & Roger show. Unplanned, Wolf & I both had chosen that interview to announce to each other a segment for the show that would appropriately put the other person on the spot.

What did I spring on him? Stump The Wolf! Simply send an audio or text version of your question to dulcineatmo@gmail.com and I will GLADLY share that question with him live on the air to see if he can answer it without any advance preparation. Diabolical, ain't it?

What did he spring on me? Hrmph. He's more diabolical than I am, and I guess you'll just have to catch the show or hope he posts his evil plan somewhere. I'm certainly not going to encourage it!

To listen tonight (the show starts at 9pm CST) go to the TMOA website at the appropriate time and click either the link to "Listen to 64k" or "Listen to 32k". You'll need the current version of Windows Media Player. I'll be sure to let you know when the download is available as well.

Wish me luck...or something.

I'm pretty happy with the general feel of this set I've put together in iclone.
